June 2021 Mystery Stamping Virtual Event

Mystery Stamping Virtual Event

It’s so much fun and a great opportunity to learn new folds and layouts.  I host a Mystery Stamping Virtual Event the second Wednesday of each month at 7pm CDT.   The cutting and supply details are in my weekly newsletter along with the link to join the fun.

Here is just a peek at this month’s project with a FREE tutorial!

This beautiful card is a double Z fold and is truly quick and easy.  The Designer Series Paper used is the new  Hand-Penned from the 2021-2022 Annual Catalog.  The Hand-Penned Petals Bundle coordinates beautifully and makes it so easy to get that watercolor look.

I hope you will join me in July for the this fun event!  Did I mention there are door prize drawings?

Snowflake Splendor Suite Photo Presentation

This past weekend I had the opportunity to participate in the Creative Connections 2020 Virtual Event.  The organizers of this event Terri Gaines, Susan Campfield and Georgia Giguere were amazing and did an awesome job!  Thank you ladies, you are the best of the best.

As you can see in the picture above, I volunteered to make 8 projects using the Snowflake Splendor Suite.  I am always willing to share my projects, however it is a bit nerve racking when it is your peers and colleagues who are immensely talented that you are presenting to.

Here are the projects I presented.  I hope you find inspiration and interest in this beautiful Snowflake Splendor Suite from the 2020 August-December Mini by Stampin’Up!

The first project uses a Whisper White Mini Pizza Box (144645) layered and wrapped with the Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper (153513) , topped with the filigree snow flake from the So Many Snowflakes die (153560).  Of course you always have to add some more glimmer using the Whale of Time sequins (152461).  The bow is from the Snowflake Splendor 1/4″ ribbon (153548), and is really hard to capture the beauty of this ribbon in pictures.  It is an iridescent ribbon with metallic thread woven throughout.  Gorgeous!

A perfect treat bag for the holidays!  The second project uses the Mosaic Gusseted Cellophane Bags (153509).   These bags are a really great size measuring 4″ x 7″ with a whopping 25 per pack!  I should also mention these are food safe, so perfect to fill with holiday baked goodies.

I lined the bag using a piece of the Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper (153512) measuring 3 3/4″ x 12″ and added the arrangement of the Snowflake Splendor Dies using Whisper White and Balmy Blue cardstock an added sparkle to the center using the Blue Adhesive Backed Gems (153547).  To finish the bag I punched two holes to thread the Faux Linen Ribbon and tied with a bow!  You will love how crisp and easy this ribbon is for tying.

Next up is project number 3.  This card was super fun and easy and uses a very versatile fun fold.

For the fold, I simply started with an 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Pool Party cardstock, scored at 4 1/2″.  Cutting 1″ from the right side of the front flap.  The Whisper White matting measures 4 1/8″ x 5 3/8″ and 1 1/8″x 5 3/8″.  The beautiful Snowflake Splendor Designer Series Paper measures 4″ x 5 1/4″ and 1″ x  5 1/4″.  The sentiment is stamped using Pool Party ink with the sentiment from the Snowflake Wishes stamp set and die cut using the Tasteful Labels Dies (152886).  The snowflake medallion was added with a sprinkling of the rhinestone basic jewels and tied with a piece of the Pool Party 3/8″ Sheer Ribbon (152462)

Project number 4 was probably the most fun and challenging in that I used the Shimmery White  Embossing Paste (145645) colored with a few drops of the Highland Heather ink refill (147167) and stenciled through a die cut piece of cardstock.  I love the effect!

I stenciled onto a Whisper White notecard (131527) allowing it a 30 minute dry time.  The purple Tricolor Ribbon (149708) was the perfect compliment.  I then decorated one of the Whisper White Mini Paper Pumpkin Boxes (153069) adding another sparkly stenciled snowflake backed by the beautiful Square Vellum Doilies (152484) for the win.  Filled the box with 4 of the note cards and envelopes and can’t wait to give it to a friend,

The next card, project number 5 is very similar to the Mini Pizza Box except I used the Rainbow Glimmer Paper (153056) as the backing for the filigree snowflake die.  The colors are Pool Party for the matte and sentiment with another snowflake cut from the Rainbow Glimmer Paper for embellishment.

Project number 6 has LOTS of snowflakes and I used the snowflake cut-out die and then die cut again using the largest of the Stitched Nested Label Dies (1496380).  The die cut piece is them popped up on dimensionals and adorned with many snowflakes in coordinating colors and sprinkled with the Snowflake Adhesive-Backed Sequins (153545) and the Blue Adhesive-Backed Gems.  I think this is my favorite….  Sentiment was stamped with Misty Moonlight ink.

Project number 7 is a card that rates right up there also in the “fav” category.  The vellum and Whisper White alternating snowflake medallion is stunning when centered  with the die from the Painted Labels Dies (153827).  I really like the matted DSP layers using the Misty Moonlight cardstock and ink for the sentiment.  Quick and Easy with a lot of dimension.

And finally, at project number 8!  Thank you Snow Much for visiting my blog today and I hope I was able to inspire you with the many creating possibilities of the Snowflake Splendor Suite by Stampin’Up!

Happy Birthday Deby!

Peony Garden Suite Collection

Today I want to share with you a card I created using products from the Peony Garden Suite.  This is a birthday card for my very dear friend, neighbor and crafty team member.  Deby has the most beautiful flower gardens, so of course this set was perfect!

Here is the card, using the Prized Peony Bundle, the Peony Garden Designer Series Paper and of course the 1/4″ Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon.  I did use some of the Petal Pink Organdy Ribbon to offset the Shimmer ribbon.  All supplies used will be listed below for your to add to your shopping cart!

The background technique is the #scrappystriptechnique that was launched by Bruno Bertucci.  This technique is very simple yet adds a stunning background to your project.  Starting with a Petal Pink A2 cardbase, I cut the DSP into 1.5″ x 4″ strips and them cut them at varying angles using my mini-trimmer.  Seriously, NO MEASURING NEEDED.  I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere them to a remnant piece of Gray Granite cardstock that measures 3″ x 5″.  After the strips are adhered and the glue is dry, trim excess edges using a pair of Snips.  Matte the strip piece to onto a piece of Basic Gray cardstock measuring  3 1/8″ x 5 1/8″.   Then add to the card base.

The shaded peony was die cut from Whisper White card stock and using a sponge dauber with Petal Pink ink, lightly blush the edges of the petals.  Assemble the peony matching the bottom curves, so easy!  The leaves were cut from scrap pieces of Gray Granite and Basic Gray.

The little “happy birthday” sentiment is from the Posted for You stamp set.

Ornate Garden Spanner Fun Fold

I am sharing a “Quarantine Swap” card I made today.  I was totally inspired by Susan Canfield’s idea.  I recreated her fun fold layout using the Ornate Garden Suite items.  I love how this turned out and feel like it is a very Spring-like card.  Here is a look at the final product.

This card is so fun as it has 3 layers.  The sides lift “spanned” by a piece of Window Sheet.  The second layer is the embossed piece with the Hello sentiment.  The 3rd layer is the sentiment from the bundled stamp set and dies , By the Dock.

  • So Saffron cut at 8.5″ x 5.5″, scored at 4.25″
  • Cut the front flap on each side at 1.25″ from the bottom edge to the scored fold line.
  • Cut 2 pieces of  Daisy DSP to 1″x 4″
  • Cut 2 pieces of Green Flowered DSP to 1″x 4″
  • So Saffron cut to 3″x 4″ and embossed with the Ornate Floral 3D embossing folder
  • Whisper White cardstock cut  to 4″x 5.25″, adhere the Green Flowered DSP to the right and left sides of the insert.
  • Stamp the insert with the sentiment from  By the Dock stamp set
  • Early Espresso stamp pad.
  • Cut a piece of Window Sheet to 3 1″x 4″ and adhere to the first layer using Mini Glue Dots.
  • Cut a piece of So Saffron to 3/4″ x  3″ and stamp the “Hello” from the Good Morning Magnolia two stamp set, u sing Early Espresso stamp pad.
  • Die cut a piece of Whisper White using the Ornate Borders die and size and adhere to the bottom of the Hello piece.  Positioning under the Window Sheet.
  • Tie a piece of the Olive Green ribbon from the Combo Pack position above the Hello banner.
  • Punch 4 daisies from Whisper White cardstock.  Adhere two together using Mini Glue Dots and embellish with the medium sized Gold Faceted Gems.  Using Mini Glue Dots stick them to the right side of the Window Sheet as pictured above.

Coming up Daisies!

I have officially taken a break from sewing face masks and am back creating in my happy place.  Today I would like to share with you a card named  “Coming Up Daisies”.  This was a really fun project in that I used the Fluid 100 watercolor paper from Stampin’Up! along with our beautiful inks and aqua painter to make my colored paper for the flowers.  Then, using some of our dies and punches to form them.  Here is what the finished card looks like.

  • 8.5″ x 5.5″  Whisper White cardbase scored at 4.25″
  • 3.75″x 5.25″ Shimmery White cardstock embossed with Subtles folder and water colored with Balmy Blue ink and aqua painter.
  • Using the aqua painter and the Fluid 100 watercolor paper with the remaining ink colors and let dry before punching and die cutting.
  • Cut a piece of Balmy Clue cardstock to matte the Shimmery White embossed image, then wrap and tie the crinkle ribbon in a bow or knot.
  • Stamp with favorite sentiment and adhere the flowers and leaves using mini glue dots.
  • Pop up using dimensionals onto the cardbase.

The products used to make this card are pictured below and can be purchased from my online store by simply clicking the product.
